Comparison Dolce Gusto Oblo vs Jovia

Do you know the Dolce Gusto Oblo and Jovia coffee makers? There are many users interested in these two Dolce Gusto machines that were launched more than five years ago, before Christmas 2014, and there are also many questions and doubts that still plague even the most hesitant buyers. Which is better, the Dolce Gusto Oblo or the Jovia? What are the differences between Dolce Gusto Oblo and Jovia? Is it more worthwhile to buy an Oblo or a Jovia, or should you opt for another Dolce Gusto coffee machine?

To answer these questions and help you decide, we have decided to make this intense comparison of Oblo vs Jovia.

Differences between Dolce Gusto Oblo and Jovia

To begin our comparison, we have to make it clear that the Dolce Gusto Oblo and the Dolce Gusto Jovia are two coffee machines with very similar features. You can check it out by reading our analysis:

Both coffee machines have the same 15 bar pressure pump, the same water tank capacity, are operated in precisely the same way. Both are manual Dolce Gusto coffee machines (they do not have the automatic Play&Select system). Moreover, both the Oblo and the Jovia are sold in the same range of colours: red, white and black. What are the differences between an Oblo and a Jovia, then? Well, mainly two:

  1. Firstly, the design. Aesthetically these coffee makers are two very different machines. The Oblo is a larger, square coffee machine, while the Jovia has a perhaps more suggestive design, with an oval shape and very rounded lines. The Jovia is much narrower, and that perhaps allows us to find different locations for it inside our house. Our opinion is that Dolce Gusto intended with this double simultaneous launch to satisfy the tastes of both male and female audiences at the same time. In any case, the decision is yours: choose the one you like best. In this comparison, Oblo vs Jovia, you can see photographs that illustrate what we are saying and can help you decide.
  2. The second difference is the price on Amazon. Officially both coffee makers came out with the same price, £89 (introductory offer). Still, on Amazon, you can find the Oblo for just £69, a little cheaper than the Jovia, which is currently available for £75-78. It’s not a big difference, as you can see, but it does exist, and, as such, we reflect it in our Oblo vs Jovia comparison.

Oblo or Jovia, which is better to buy?

In our view, neither is objectively better than the other; they’re identical. The only aspect that you should take into account when buying an Oblo or a Jovia is its design and aesthetics. Buy the one that is more beautiful of the two, the one that you find in your favourite colour, or merely the one that, due to its dimensions, fits better in the space that you are planning to reserve for it in your kitchen. In both cases, you will take home a magnificent manual Dolce Gusto coffee maker and a brand new one.
