Coffee machines for geeks

We all have a family member or friend who is a geek (this is not meant in a derogatory way), that person with an intense fondness for a character, film or series, who maybe even collects all kinds of objects related to them.

If you have to give a gift to this person, going for a themed item related to their favourite hobby is a sure bet. You can’t go wrong.

We, of course, go for coffee machines. And yes, there are also totally themed coffee machines. We are going to propose some of these coffee machines as gifts, and we also invite you to dive into the Internet in search of more models that may fall into this category.

In the particular case of some models you will find that we have already prepared some specialised reviews on the web, with more extensive information. In these cases, we will include a direct link to the review so that you can read it in detail and get to know the geeky coffee maker in question in more depth.

This is the top 5 of the best geek coffee makers we could find on Amazon right now!

The Batman Coffee Maker

Batman is one of those lifelong characters that never goes out of fashion. And the Batman coffee maker is aesthetically very cool, so the combination for Batman fans is perfect.

It is a mocha or Italian coffee maker, fully themed with Batman’s identifying shapes: the cape, the wings, or the bat’s ears, among other details.

Racepresso: helmet or coffee maker?

This is a coffee machine specially designed for speed lovers. It is the mechanism of a capsule coffee machine integrated inside a racing helmet. The original idea dates back to 2010 and is the joint brainchild of Nespresso and Ferrari designed by Ilgar Rustamov.

Not surprisingly, the logo of the Cavallino Rampante is clearly distinguishable when the visor of the helmet-cafetera is lifted to access the cup and the capsule compartment.

If you are thinking of buying a Racepresso coffee machine, bear in mind that it is a few years old and that the project never went beyond a concept or prototype. In other words, it never went into mass production. Even so, the idea of the Racepresso was worth it, don’t you think?

Espresso Veloce V12 Espresso Machine

Of course, when it comes to speed and motor racing… the ultimate is this Espresso Veloce coffee machine, which is not a concept but a reality. A somewhat exclusive and elitist reality, but a reality nonetheless. That’s why we’re making a list of geeky coffee machines, isn’t it?

Photos: coffeeitalia.co.uk

As you can see in the photos, this is an espresso machine that almost perfectly imitates the shape of a racing car engine. It even has up to 3 different versions: Espresso Veloces V8, V10 and V12, depending on the “number of cylinders” we choose for our espresso maker-engine.

The dimensions of this monster are 38 x 42 x 34 (length x width x height) and 23 kilograms in weight.

Each piece is custom-made in galvanised steel and delivered to your home (it’s not a cheap coffee maker, of course) and the level of detail is incredible.

For example, if you look slowly at the picture you will see that the cup tray is located just below the first cylinder starting from the left. This is where the espresso is served.

The Espresso Veloce coffee machine (in any of its three versions) is exported all over the world and you can choose it in different colours. You can buy it online, here for around 11.000 pounds.

The Star Wars coffee maker

This is a French press, or plunger coffee maker. It’s not the most popular type of coffee maker, but I’m sure some readers will have quickly identified it. It is a near-perfect replica of R2D2, the friendly and beloved Star Wars robot.

If you have a friend who is a fan of the saga and you’re looking to buy a Star Wars geek coffee maker, look no further: this is the most detailed and complete coffee maker you’re going to find. It doesn’t lack a single detail!

Bialetti Cuore: the coffee maker for lovers

Well, this isn’t exactly a coffee maker for geeks, but it is a coffee maker for the very romantic. It’s perfect as a coffee maker to give to your boyfriend/girlfriend or partner. It is a capsule coffee machine from the famous Bialetti company, in the shape of a heart.

It was originally marketed in various colours (red, white, dark grey) although of course the most logical and best-selling colour was red.

It has a water tank with a capacity of 0.5 litres, and only works with the Bialetti system’s own capsules.

You’ve never thought of giving a heart-shaped coffee machine as a gift? Well, if you come across one of these models, you can make it a reality and make a wonderful gift for that person who is so special to you.
