The coffee cream is a dessert that has different uses, either to be enjoyed alone or as a decoration for another dessert. This normal coffee cream is ideal for giving our cakes or tarts that characteristic coffee taste and aroma. Ah, and this is not the same product as coffee cream (the milk cream that is added to espresso coffee)!

- A spoonful of butter.

We will start by preparing a pastry cream with eggs, cornstarch, sugar, lemon peel and milk. Always heat the milk with the lemon peel first in the pastry cream and remove it before it boils. Then strain the milk.
In another container, mix the two egg yolks with the cornstarch. Now add the sugar and while stirring the mixture, add the milk in small amounts; remember that you must not stop stirring as it will gradually thicken. When it reaches the ideal consistency, the famous sustained coffee cream, remove from the heat and let rest.
Your mixture, if you want to get the recipe for the creamy coffee, must be quite thick because when you add the coffee afterwards, it will be more liquid.
Finally, prepare the double espresso in the machine you have at your disposal and add it with a spoonful of butter. If you use a capsule coffee machine at home, we advise you to use two capsules instead of one. Stir well, and let your homemade coffee cream rest in the refrigerator.

🍨 Coffee cream with almonds and chocolate
The following recipe for easy coffee cream varies slightly in preparation and ingredients but still retains the essence of simplicity and speed of the previous recipe. The fundamental difference is that the result of this preparation can be taken as a dessert, while the classic coffee cream is more of an ingredient or accompaniment for other more complex desserts.
Ingredients of the coffee cream with chocolate and almonds
- 1 delicious cup of concentrated double coffee
- 1 tablespoon of soluble coffee (optional, gives it a more pronounced flavour and aroma)
- 4 eggs
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 small spoonful of refined white maize flour (cornflour)
- 150 ml liquid cream
- 200 ml of milk of your choice
- 1/2 cup of water
- Grated white chocolate
- Almonds in slices or pieces
As you can see, they are practically the same as the traditional coffee cream recipe above, but with the addition of almonds and chocolate.
How to make coffee cream with chocolate and almonds
Let’s start this new recipe for coffee cream by boiling half of the milk with the coffee. When it is hot, add the soluble coffee. Let it rest and set aside.
Then separate the whites from the yolks and mix the latter with the rest of the milk and a spoonful and a half of sugar. Now, add the milk prepared with the coffee described above, mix well. Pour this content into another pot or casserole and let it cook, constantly stirring over low heat, but without the mixture comes to a boil.
Dissolve the cornstarch in half a cup of water and pour it into the preparation being cooked. Add it while turning with a wooden spoon. When it starts to thicken, remove it from the heat, put it in a container and rest.
Next, prepare a meringue, beating the egg whites at medium speed with two spoons of sugar in the blender until it is stiff, about 5 minutes.
Once our meringue is ready, all that is left to do is to semi-mix the liquid cream. For this step, you only need to beat with the whisk until the cream is almost whipped.
To finish off, mix three spoonfuls of half whipped cream with the coffee mixture and slowly add the meringue. Stir gently in a wrap-around motion until the cream, meringue and coffee cream are all integrated.
To decorate, roast the almonds in a frying pan and grate the chocolate (you can buy grated chocolate or chocolate shavings, but it’s always better if you do it yourself). All you have to do is pass our coffee cream with almonds into the individual ice-cream cup style containers, decorate with the almonds and the grated chocolate on top and enjoy!
🍨 Coffee cream with only 3 ingredients (no dairy)
To finish this section of homemade coffee cream, we offer you a third option to prepare it. You will only have to use 3 ingredients to make this coffee cream without milk. This is one of the most used variants for the fillings and decorations of traditional pastries, and also for when you have little time and have to make a quick coffee cream!

- Caster sugar.
- Thick cream.
- Instant coffee (soluble) or in this case coffee essence.
How to make coffee cream for cakes
In a container, mix the heavy cream with the instant coffee and/or coffee essence. Mix everything well until the coffee has dissolved.
While you are still mixing, slowly add the icing sugar. Now with an electric mixer with sticks or a hand blender, we will beat our mixture until it starts to have a more creamy consistency. Be very careful not to mix the coffee cream too much as it can emulsify and go from being a coffee cream to a coffee-flavoured butter.
Note: To get good whipping cream, we recommend that the cream, as well as the whipping implements, are cold from the fridge. This will allow the cream to thicken faster.

It couldn’t be simpler! Take your hand blender, and mix the coffee, ice water and sugar well. Beat the whole mixture until it emulsifies (i.e. airs out and takes on a dense, fluffy texture). When you reach this point, serve it immediately in a low desert glass.
The coffee cream with water is a dessert that is made on the spot and in just a few seconds, perfect for meetings and banquets at home if you have the ingredients prepared in advance.
🍨 Coffee cream with liquor
Another recipe for coffee cream with liquor is much simpler than the previous ones and is usually taken as a dessert (for adults, of course). It has a liquid texture, is not thick, and has to be served very, very cold, almost directly from the freezer. Take note:

- An American or filter coffee (long and smooth).
- 4 tablespoons of condensed milk.
- 20 cl of evaporated milk.
- 1 custard.
- 25 cl whisky or cognac.
Of course, the chosen liquor will be to the taste of the consumer, and the quantities of coffee or liquor are also adjusted according to the taste of each one. To make your coffee cream with liqueur, put all the ingredients in a blender, and beat them to mix them well.
