In the present analysis we are going to detail the characteristics of this Rommelsbacher EKM 200 and we will stop very specially in the differences that we will find with respect to the EKM 300, so that the users can compare and decide between both.

To begin with, we find that this grinder has a compact distribution and takes up little space. The container for the coffee beans has a capacity of 250 grams of product, which is inserted into it by lifting the black lid on the top.

As you can see in the following picture, on the left side of the Rommelsbacher EKM 200, we have a wheel that serves to select the fineness of the grinding. In total, there are nine different degrees of thickness. The large central wheel holds up to 12 levels, which correspond to the number of cups of coffee for which we are going to grind. The already ground coffee is stored in the storage room or dispenser just below. In the centre of this dosing wheel is the switch for starting the grinder.

Why buy a Rommelsbacher EKM-200?

The main conclusion of this analysis is that buying the Rommelsbacher EKM 200 allows us to take home a good electric grinder for a reasonable price and from a fairly prestigious firm such as the German Rommelsbacher. However, having a superior model within the same product line inevitably causes doubts and comparisons to arise, especially when it comes to assessing whether or not the price difference between the two grinders is worth it.

Its manufacturers recommend Rommelsbacher EKM 200 to prepare any type of coffee (espressos, French press, drip coffee machines…). Still, we advise you that if your objective is to prepare espressos, and therefore you need a very fine and demanding grind, opt for higher range grinders.

This Rommelsbacher EKM 200 differs from its big brother, the Rommelsbacher EKM 300, in several details and functional aspects. Firstly, as it is a superior model, it is logically more expensive. Its size is also somewhat larger.

Secondly, the EKM 300 has more power (150 watts) which produces a finer grind even at lower levels. The grinding grades are 12 in the EKM 300 and 9 in this EKM 200. The capacity of the hopper is curiously lower in the EKM 300 (220 grams) than in the EKM 200 (250 grams), and its location also changes.

In this Rommelsbacher EKM 200 is located behind the grinder, whereas in the EKM 300, the hopper is just above it. And finally, we remind you that this EKM 200 model has flat or disc wheels, while the EKM 300 has conical ones. The material of the grinding wheels is identical in both models, of high quality.
